Lakeside Camp Park...

 

Lakeside Park, Cedar Springs, MI.. We had a great time with family and friends at Bills Retirement Party.. Finally he is getting his dream!

First Trip....

We've had our first trip together, a run up to Pelston to Bills daughter Becky. Our grey water and black tank sprung leaks! We were going to take our jeep, however after driving not even 5 minutes realized that something was not quite right. We think we didn't hook the breaking system up correctly, so with it getting late, we decided to leave the jeep at our friends house and get on our way. Was a great trip.. and a good trial to see if I packed everything well. It was a success!! :) Nothing broken! The gallon of milk that came out of the fridge didn't burst open!!

Our son-in-law Chris fixed our tanks. Not a pretty job!! We so appreciate the knowledge Chris has. Once the tanks were out, we found silicone on old splits that had cracked and worn through. Bill has been able to share on the RV forum what we found and how to go about fixing it. This sort of information can be hard to come by.. hopefully what we learned will help someone else.

Our first park....

Our first month has been and gone.  We met a lovely couple who pulled in beside us at Woodchip.. Diane & Johnny & CC the yorkie :)  They have been fulltiming a couple of years. It was so good to visit with them and learn a bit about Louisiana, and their travels so far.  There are people who come across your path in life that you know will be friends for life.  We look forward to meeting up with them again in our travels.   

 

 

 

Rocky Edge...

Rocky Edge, Allendale, Indiana... Bill has wanted to go and have a look at where his grandfather was groundskeeper for Chapman Root and this trip we made it. We couldn't go onto the property and couldn't see the main house.  Chapman J Root, owned the Root Glass Company in Terre Haute, Indiana and designed and patented the famous Coca-Cola bottle design.  Bill has memories here and it was a great trip for him..

 

Getting used to Blog...

You may notice today, I've got several posts all with todays date, when in actual fact I wrote some awhile ago... just didn't get around to putting them up.

We are all settled in now.  Our new best friend is the label maker!  Bill's using it to label wiring, switches and pipes in the belly of our home. Anything on the inside in a plastic storage tote gets a label too.   Today is lovely and warm here in Michigan with lots of sunshine.. time to get my day started... coffee outside sounds good to me...

 

Our first stop...

We are out of our sticks and stone home and at our first campground.  Only took us about half and hour to work out how to get the main awning down!! lol.  Been to Florida to get our car, it's all set up for towing. Big thanks to my hubby, he got all our windows to open on the motorhome, so this kiwi can have fresh air. He's a good man. :)

Not for the faint of heart...

We have moved into our new home on wheels.  If you are thinking of: a) retiring b) selling your house  c) moving into a motorhome  d) changing your State of Residency  e)  setting up your mail forwarding address f) buying a new car, All at the same time!..Take a moment to Stop - take a deep breath, cause you are gonna need it!! :)  Keep the coffeepot full! :)



Next Week...

Next week, it is all on.. We move into our new home on wheels.  We have our new address in South Dekota which I'll get out to family and friends.

Getting Settled...

Wow... what a week!  We are in our motorhome now and getting ourselves settled in.  We have about 7 weeks to get everything the way we like it before we hit the road.  Bill has a Doctors appointment the first week of June.
